HISTORY
Watson Farms, just East of Fort Benjamin Harrison between 59th and 63rd streets, is a diversified family community working together to form our Association. The association is continuing efforts to mirror our property appearance with our natural surroundings and create common bonds with our neighbors. We are situated within walking distance to historic Fort Benjamin Harrison and the beautiful Fort Harrison State Park , which boasts an 18 hole golf course, small fishing lakes, hiking and biking trails, horse trail rides, and picnicking.
This neighborhood was originally two farms owned by Warren ("Tom") and Delores Watson and Tom's parents, Merle and Grace Watson. Delores still calls this home, her white farmhouse is located just West of the entrance to our neighborhood on 63rd street. Together the Watsons farmed what was a 109-acre dairy farm. The Watsons sold their farms to Land Innovators in 1993 who, along with RN Thompson, developed Watson Farms. Our neighborhood consists of 327 homes built primarily by M/I Homes and Trinity Homes, 5 retention ponds, and a wonderful heated swimming pool and bathhouse. The residents of Watson Farms formed the Homeowner's Association in April of 1999. The Board of Watson Farms Homeowner's Association, Inc., a not for profit organization, is made up of 7 members elected by the homeowners.
